Winter Wx Advisory Radar Outages Stormy

Another Pacific storm system will be affecting northern and central Nevada today with rain showers expected in the valleys and snow in the mountains and higher valleys. Snow levels should remain in the 5500 to the 6000-foot range in Humboldt county and at or above 6500 feet elsewhere. A few of the highest summits along I-80 and US Hwy 50/6 could see slush on the roads. As for the Ruby Mtns, significant accumulation is likely above 7500 feet, with some areas above 9000 feet seeing nearly 16 inches by late Sunday afternoon. Therefore, a winter weather advisory is in effect for the Ruby Mtns through 5 PM Sunday. Showers are expected today with the best chances in eastern Nevada with snow levels lowering to around 6000 to 6500 feet during the late afternoon and evening. Temperatures climb only to the mid-40s to mid-50s today. The wet and cold pattern continues into Monday with rain and snow showers; highs will be in the 40s and 50s.
